N.Y. (AP) -United Auto Workers. President Leonard Woodcock says consideration is being Riven to reaffi-Hating with the AFL-ClO. The move, if it goes through, would end the more than five year separation between the nation's second largest union and the giant labor federation. Woodcock said Thursday there already had been some "internal discussions" within the UAW and said these talks would continue.

However, he indicated that serious reservations remain, particularly concerning differences in views on foreign policy and politics. Woodcock noted that any decision to reaffiliate with the 13.4 million-member AFL-CIO could only be made by the full convention of the UAW at its next meeting in June. He said there was some doubt whether the UAW "internal discussions" could progress fast enough to raise the issue at the CPA Group to Cite Hammill Earl W. Hammill, senior partner in the Racine accounting firm of Earl W. Hammill will receive an award next week from the Wisconsin Society of Certified Public Accountants in recognition of his service since 1967 as a member of the Wisconsin Accounting Examining Board.

The award will be presented Friday, Nov. 9, during the society's 37th annual tax clinic at the Pfister in Milwaukee. The accounting examining board administers the CPA examination, grants CPA certificates and regulates the accounting profession in Wisconsin. In addition, the society said its first "Wisconsin CPA's News Media Award" will go to Ray Kennedy, the Milwaukee Sentinel's business editor, for demonstrating an understanding and insight into the accounting profession. The society also announced that Las Vegas oddsmaker Jimmy the Greek has accepted an invitation to speak at the clinic's closing banquet Friday evening.

Unless the Cost of Living Council blocks them, the price hikes for American Motors would take effect Nov, 30 and for Chrysler and Ford on Dec, 1 under the mandatory 30-day waiting period of the Phase 4 anti-inflation program.

There was no immediate word from General Motors on a possible price boost. All four major U.S. automakers were granted Increases by the council Sept, 7 for 1974 mmlt'ls. Ford, in announcing its increase, said the company since January of 1972 has absorbed cumulative cont increases averaging $300 per unit for labor, material and unrccovered government-required product costs, Council officials had no Immediate comment on the new increases. But it appeared the proposed hikes do not fit the guidelines the council set for auto price increases in late September tnlned a working relationship with the labor federation, often lobbying Jointly on various leg islative issues, in 1972, nejoinea with Meany In quitting the Nixon Administration's old Pay Board.

Ratification would end a strike that has idled about 40,500 workers at 25 Harvester plants in 11 states since Oct.

18. Ratification meetings were expected to be held over the weekend. Meanwhile, central contract talks were continuing today at Akron, Ohio toward a new agreement covering about 2,250 UAW-represented employes of Massey-Ferguson including 250 of the company's North American Parts Warehouse The Massey-Ferguson talks are being carried on under a day to day extension of the existing contract, which was to have expired Oct. 31. Bill Morgan, Massey-Ferguson's industrial relations chief, reached this morning at Des Moines, said negotiators have been making "considerable progress.

We have no reason to be dissatisfied with the way the talks are going." In the International Harvester situation, the company refused to confirm the tentative agreement immediately, and there was no immediate official announcement from the union. It was believed, however, that language differences were' being resolved and that an official announcement was imminent. The two sides have not commented publicly during the strike, but the major issue was said to be the company's demand for restrictions on its traditional voluntary overtime program, under which a worker may refuse to work overtime if he wishes. The Associated Press reported that the tentative agreement includes a "30 and out" provision, under which a worker may retire after 30 years with the company, regardless of his age. The old contract expired Oct.
